About Us

Huntur Younge, Owner and Metalsmith at Prairie Wind Forge!

I'm a proud Mvskoke (Muscogee Nation) citizen, father, husband, and silversmith. Born and raised in Oklahoma,

In my lifetime, I have worked with several art mediums, such as drawing, painting, pottery, and beading, as a creative outlet.
Once I took my first metalsmithing class, I was instantly hooked on the rawness of taking materials that the earth provides along with fire, tools, and imagination, bringing those things together to forge something beautiful. Indigenous American artisans have been creating with metal for thousands of years, starting with copper as early as 5000 BC.

The Spanish and Mexican ironworkers helped introduce silver in the 1800s, which became a staple along with natural stones, bones and other materials to help round out this deeply rooted craft in Native American cultures. I am honored and humbled daily by this craft and continue to learn and grow in this art form. I source high-quality and unique stones and materials to create organic and unique pieces with a touch of elegance and style. If you have any questions about our products or if you would like to check the availability of an item,
